WINE CELLAR VELKÉ BÍLOVICE
workshop | 2nd prize
Velké Bílovice, Czech republic
Alexandra Jamnická, Jakub Hoffmann
The proposal of the wine cellar is the result of a three-day workshop in the town with a great tradition in wine production - Velké Bílovice. The owner of the old and ruined wine cellar wished to renovate it and get a space for degustation, wine storing and also a room where his friends and guests can sit and drink wine. We propose preservation and renovation of the space where the grapevine was pressed in its former appearance. The old wine cellar, valuable for its stable temperature is also preserved in the original condition and up for it we add the room for the background facilities and storage. Above the wine cellar, we propose the new object of the pub which continues by the terrace heading to the vineyard nearby. The facade is made of the white-washed brick because white colour is typical for wine cellars in this locality.
